Special Thomas Games and Activites For Kids
For years now we have been supplying parents, teachers and other educators with high quality Thomas The Train coloring pages at no cost. After communicating with some of these educations we were amazed at some the creative ideas and games that some of these individuals have come up with. So we took some of the best games and compiled them into this article. These are easy to follow activities that parents will be able to do at home. Let us dive right in and get started shall we?
Thomas Greeting Cards
Mrs. Helm a second grade teacher out of Ohio explained to us how she would use our Thomas coloring pages to create various Thomas Greeting Cards for just about every special occasion you could imagine. It was pretty amazing! She was even nice enough to write out a step-by-step process that I am about to share with you now. Please enjoy!
If your tired of games try a few Thomas Coloring Pages that you would like to use for the front of your greeting card. Once you have selected your images save it some place on your computer where you can easily locate them, since you will be using it in a few minutes. Next you will need to open up whatever graphics program that you use and open up a blank sheet. In this example I am using Adobe Photoshop, however any graphics editing program can be used. Once you open up a new blank canvas it should ask you what size you wish to work with.

You will want to set your width to 11” and your hight to 8.5” this is known in the design realm as "American standard for letter size." Next you will want to use guidelines to equally divide your page into four equal quadrants.
Next you will want to open up a Thomas image that you downloaded a few minutes ago. Copy and paste that image into a blank canvas that you previously divided into four quadrants. Resize your image and rotate it 90 degrees counterclockwise. You want your image to fit perfectly in the top left quadrant of the blank canvas. The top of your image should be pointing towards the outer edge of your paper, and the bottom towards the right side of the page.

Next we will add a title. In this example we will type “You Are Invited To...” Type your heading, then rotate it 90 degrees counterclockwise. Place it at the top of your image.

NOTE: Most printers need the edge of the paper to pull your page through your printer. Because of this you have to make sure not to place your images or text to close to the edge of your paper. Most printers only need a 0.25” border. This is something that you will have to do trial and error.
Next we will add your text t inside of your greeting card. In this example we put this on the inside of the card:
David Smith’s 6th Birthday Party
Date: October 3rd, 2011
Time: 1:30 PM
Location: 123 Alphabet St, Virginia Beach, VA 00000
There will be many fun activities and games. The kids will be bobbing for apples, playing pin the wheels on the train. There will be a Thomas Train Coloring contest and much much more.
This is one birthday train theme party that you will not want to miss.

It Is Time To Print Your Greeting Card
I know your excited, but hold on there's still a few things that needs to be done...
Before you start the printing process you will want to make sure that you have double checked everything before you begin printing. I cannot tell you how many times I have spent hours designing a hot greeting card, then I made several copies just to discover that I had misspelled something really stupid like my name LOL or better yet, my address LOL.
The worst part about it is I am never the one who catches the mistakes. The last time it was one of the people that I had sent several cards out to. So again... Double check your spelling before making a fool out of yourself like me :-).
Next you will want to print your greeting card out and fold it down the middle. Once you have completed that step, you can now fold your card in half. If you have followed everything as I have it written out in this lesson, your Thomas image should be on the front of your card, and when you open it you should have your text on the right side of your greeting card or whatever you chose to call it.
Putting The Final Touches On Your Card
Once you have printed your card out and you are satisfied with the look of it. It is time to let the kids color them before sending them out. This gives each of the cards their own unique touch that will make your child proud of his or her work.
Mailing The Greeting Cards Out
Place a little tape on the open side of the card so that the card will not come open in the mail. On the back side of the card you can write your return mailing address in the to left hand corner, and the mailing address in the center. That is it you can now mail grandma that get well Thomas card that will surely make her feel better in no time.
