There are many different reactions that can be seen after immunizations. There are many different types of immunizations that occur that can be a part of the reaction. These reactions are most commonly referred to with some of the following immunizations. These immunizations include DTaP, MMR, polio, Hemophilus influenzae type b, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, influenza, Chickenpox, pneumonococcal, meningococcal, Rotavirus, and Human Papilloma Virus.

Most common reactions to injectable immunizations may be redness at location of injection, swelling, and slight discomfort or pain where you received the shot. These are all fairly common and should practically be expected when recceiving immunizations an typically will occur within the same day of immunization. 2-3 days is not at all uncommon for these reactions to remain present, and may be accompanied by fever as well. When you receive vaccinations, they may contain a “live” or “dead” form, and a immunization containing a “live” virus may not cause much reaction for as much as a week or two. It is normal for these types of reactions to last for up to a similar period of time. These are common reactions, but there are other more complicated reactions to be aware of when receiving immunizations.

Some of the more sever reactions require prompt medical attention. The severity of the reactions will dictate the level of medical intervention necessary.

Please pay attention to your reactions and know whether it may be necessary to call your doctor VS being rushed into the Emergency Room. A severe reaction requiring emergency treatment would be difficulty breathing, sever lethargy, asthma type symptoms, and difficulty swallowing.

Reactions that may occur from an immunization that may require you call your doctor, are less severe and may include generally feeling sick. Feeling sick from an immunization may be common depending on the vaccination you have received but generally warrants a call at least. If fever is present it may be fairly normal as well, but if you are calling your doctor be sure not to give any fever reducing medications such as Tyleonol or Ibuprofen until your doctor has given the OK. Red streaks developing on the skin within one inch of the site of injection or anywhere else on the body require care from a physician as well. These are all reasons to call your doctor day or night, and should not be taken lightly.

If after receiving a vaccination a fever is present for more then 3 days then your doctor should be called. It is important to pay attention to the reactions caused by an immunization and be sure to react accordingly. Follow up care with your doctor is important, but in the event of emergency care being necessary, it is important not to wait.

For most people who experience a bee sting they are few things that need to be considered other than a slight pain at the sting site and perhaps some irritation until the stinger is removed. However for some people a bees ting is a very serious event as they can cause allergic reactions which can range from being very painful to life threatening.

Typically symptoms of a bee sting last only for about 10-15 minutes before subsiding, but if you are possibly allergic to bee stings then your reaction can be much worse and last for a longer period of time. If your reaction seems to not be normal and your body has a more adverse reaction to the sting then you should seek medical attention.

Every bee sting should be considered to be a potentially reaction causing one. Some people may experience a reaction even though they have been stung many time before without ill effects. The sting should be watched closely and if there is any reaction medical attention should be obtained right away as bee sting reactions are quickly to progress form onset to sever medical emergency. Again just as the level of severity can vary form one person to another due to their sensitivity so can the time that the reaction takes to become sever enough to warrant medical intervention. Some people may react to a sting so severely that the issue may become life threatening.

One of the primary consideration when dealing with a bee sting is if the stinger is not withdraw by the bee. In some cases the bee might tear the stinger away from its body in order to fly away. In these instances the venom sac will still be connected to the stinger and still be depositing venom into the sting site until the stinger is removed. If you must remove the stinger it is best to gently scrape the stinger out of the skin rather than trying to pull it out. The stinger should be removed as quickly as possible after the sting.

For most of us a bee sting should produce minor stinging pain and slight swelling, in some cases redness as itching are also associated with a common bee sting reaction. Signs that a reaction might be problematic is when the mouth or throat are involved. The truth is that individuals who do not exhibit a normal reaction such as irritation or minor swelling are at the most risk for a sever reaction.

In these cases be on the look out for wheezing, vomiting, confusion and nausea. These are signs of dropping blood pressure and could lead to a life threatening situation if not corrected quickly with proper medical assistance.

Mosquitoes are considered one of the most annoying pests on the planet. Related to gnats and flies they are air born insects which bite in order to feed. With the mosquito the bite is in the form of the insertion of a needle like appendage under the skin in order to draw out blood. Females are the usually the only type of Mosquito which bite humans as they need human blood to produce and mature their eggs. The reaction to the Mosquito bite is primarily related to the saliva that the mosquito injects into the skin to prevent the clotting of blood as it is being drawn into the mosquito.

The saliva that a mosquito produces contains several proteins which are known to cause reactions in humans. There are a wide range of reactions which have been recorded from the bite of a mosquito. The symptoms of reactions will also vary according to the type of mosquito did the bite, the time frame sense the bite occurred, and how many bites the person has experienced. The most common reactions are itching and swelling of the bite area, these are considered to be normal reactions to the bite and are for the most part harmless. Persons who exhibit these reactions are not considered to be allergic in the clinical sense of the word. Over the course of many years of being bitten these reactions seem to be lessened and delayed in their onset.

Allergic reactions can occur from a mosquito bite, and typically by examining the bump you can determine your reaction level. If the bump from a resulting mosquito bite appears as more of a rash, or blister, then this could certainly be more cause for alarm. Swelling from a mosquito should be localized and confined to the location of the bite, and should be designated by a small bump. If this bump is very large or and you would classify it as swelling there is great potential for an allergic reaction. It is not at all uncommon for these symptoms to not appear for a day or two after your mosquito attack.

An extremely rare but very serious reaction, which is prevalent in some people is anaphalaxis. This is a condition of not being able to breathe properly after a bite is experienced due to swelling of the airways. Anaphalaxis is often accompanied by a serious case of hives and swelling which encompasses a large portion of the body. Another sever but slightly milder reaction involves a sudden onset asthma attack which gets progressively worse and begins within a minute of the bite.

By being outside a lot you increase your chances of an allergic reaction to a mosquito bite, due to increased exposure to mosquitoes. Children and individuals who have never been exposed to mosquitoes, also run a higher chance of experiencing an allergic reaction due to a mosquito bite.

These people include persons with cancer and those afflicted with AIDS. Diagnosis of mosquito allergy can easily be made by a simple skin exposure test in a controlled environment, but this type of test should only be administered to those who have exhibited other signs of having adverse reactions to bites.

There are hundreds of reactions on the planet today. One of the more common one are mosquito bites. Nobody likes mosquito bites. To find out more helpful information on all of the reactions on the planet visit this site now.

The ages between 1 and 3 are the biggest growth spurts in a child’s life. They will learn a majority of their skills during these precious times. In addition to physical growth, they also experience a lot of mental growth.

When a toddler starts the process of learning to speak, there may be some signs of stuttering. It is very important to keep concerns about a child’s stuttering private. A toddler should not know that their stuttering is an issue.

Instead of making a big deal of the situation, a parent should do the following;

1.) Always speak with your toddler clearly and slowly to encourage them to follow in your speech pattern. Speaking slowly causes your toddler to pick up on your speech patterns which in turn will make them take their time to enunciate their words

2.) Do not rush your toddler if he or she is stuck on a word. Give them all the time they need to finish their sentence. Giving them time to finish their sentence will alarm them that anything is wrong.

3.) Once again, do not make the toddler feel that their stuttering is an issue. Always reassure them that everything is fine. If the child sense that there is a problem, they might become hesitant about speaking out loud which would then make it hard to deal with the issue.

4.) Allow your toddler to finish their sentences. You should never interrupt them at any time. Toddlers really enjoy doing things on their own, if you allow them to finish their sentence, they will learn to properly get through the stuttering issue.

Dealing with the toddler stuttering issue is a delicate job that has to be handled carefully. Most toddler stuttering cases can be resolved within a few months. If the situation persist for longer than six months, a speech therapist should be considered as an option.

The main characteristic of stuttering is the inability to pronounce a word through its entirety. Trying to properly manage a stuttering problem has to begin with knowing the characteristics of stuttering.

by Marc Marseille

The main characteristic of stuttering is the inability to pronounce a word through its entirety. Trying to properly manage a stuttering problem has to begin with knowing the characteristics of stuttering.

Words such a “statistics” which have several similar sounds are often more difficult for stutterers to manage. Stutterers can often develop a fear of words that they normally stutter on, causing the problem to worsen.

Pausing between words and sentences is another sign of stuttering. These pauses which are normally not visible amongst non-stutterers can be caused by the anticipation of a possible stutter. Instead of stuttering, stutterers will simply pause.

There are times when a person who stutters may seem distant when speaking. These situations can also be attributed to the long pauses. Often the pauses may lead to choosing a totally different word altogether.

When children stutters at a young age, stuttering management is much different than when it becomes an issue beyond adolescence. Once the stuttering is not managed and is carried on, it can become a condition rather than just a speech impediment.

It is usually quite visible when a problem becomes more serious in a child. Stomping of the feet to complete a sentence is a pretty obvious sign to step up the search for a solution.

Shortness of breath and stuttering after every 10 words spoken are severe cases. These cases can lead to depression if they are not properly assisted. Frustration and feelings of hopelessness are obvious signs that depression is setting in.

The ability to know the stages and characteristics of stuttering makes easier to manage. The faster the problem is diagnosed the more effective the solution measure will become. This can help immensely in avoiding anti social behavior.

It is estimated that a million people in America get shingles every year. If you have no idea what shingles disease is, you should ask questions about it. You or a loved one could be at risk of suffering from shingles disease.

by Rashel Dan

It is estimated that a million people in America get shingles every year. If you have no idea what shingles disease is, you should ask questions about it. You or a loved one could be at risk of suffering from shingles disease.

What causes shingles?

Shingles disease is often said to be a sister disease of chicken pox. This is because the virus varicella zoster which causes chicken pox is also the cause of shingles disease. In addition, a person can only suffer from shingles if he has had chicken pox in the past. This is because the chicken pox virus lies dormant after patient recuperation and can recur at some point in the person’s life as shingles.

Is it the same as herpes?

The disease is also called herpes zoster sometimes. Some other skin diseases may also carry the name herpes. Shingles disease however and some other skin diseases carrying the name herpes is not the same as genital herpes which is a sexually transmitted disease.

Who is at risk of having shingles?

Those who have experienced chicken pox have higher chances of getting shingles. Most of the time though children and young adults who still have strong immune systems may still be able to avoid the illness. Those who are at high risk of developing shingles disease are those with weakened immune systems. These include the elderly and those who are extremely stressed out or fatigued. Of course, people who are severely sick with cancer, AIDS, leukemia and other illnesses also have a higher risk of developing shingles disease.

What are the symptoms of shingles?

Another term used for the disease is St. Anthony’s Fire because of the enduring pain that seems to come from the nerves to the muscles and tissues. Aside from the pain, one will also develop reddish blisters. Fever, chills, fatigue, headache and stomach pains also accompany shingles. Of course, the rashes or blisters may also feel a little itchy.

Are there any complications that follow shingles?

There are also instances wherein people who have experienced shingles get it again for the second time. In some cases, even if shingles does not recur, an individual may experience post herpetic neuralgia. This is an enduring and chronic pain usually among the elderly that may go on long after the shingles disease has been treated. In rare instances, shingles can cause some paralysis, encephalitis, pneumonia, blindness, ear problems and even death.

Can shingles spread?

People who have never had chicken pox or have not been vaccinated must steer clear from fresh, active blisters. It cannot however, be transmitted through casual, indirect contact. Once the blisters develop a crust, the virus can no longer be spread.

How do you avoid shingles?

From the very beginning it is important to get vaccinated against chicken pox. If you’ve already had chicken pox before, then you can delay the incidence of shingles disease by keeping your immune system strong and healthy. People with shingles should keep blisters covered to avoid transmitting the virus to others.

by Marc Marseille

The causes of stuttering has been argued by many professionals. Many believe that stuttering is a condition brought upon by mental issues, others believe that it is purely hereditary. The definite cause still remains in limbo.

The more common ideas on the cause of stuttering are fear of speaking in public, trauma caused by bad childhood experiences, or stuttering passed down from generations.

Fear can be a mental block that triggers a person to stutter uncontrollably. The fear of speaking in public can create breathing difficulties thus creating hesitation in otherwise normal speech.

Trauma from life experiences and bad childhood experiences can also be attributed to stuttering. The pressure due to past trauma can also lead to shortness of breath. This in turn can lead to stuttering issues.

Anxiety is related to both fear and trauma because it can cause a stutterer to feel trapped which affects breathing. Anxiety is often caused by bad childhood memories.

Stuttering can also be a hereditary condition. There are many instances where a parent and a child will both suffer from stuttering issues. This is often learned behavior passed down to generations.

The answer to the causes of stuttering are several. Instead of concentrating on finding the cause, it is much easier to work on finding a solution.

The many theories on the cause of stuttering are not definitive. The only thing that someone suffering with stuttering issues should be concerned with is finding answers. The more you seek answers the better your chances of becoming fluent.

If you suffer from restless nights and have trouble breathing, you could suffer from some form of sleep apnea. Fortunately, there are lots of sleep apnia treatments that may help and you have to find the one that is best for you. The smartest way to do that is in conjunction with your doctor’s advice.

If you have trouble sleeping at night due to a breathing problem, a few options are available. In the mildest cases, therapy has been known to work. In the majority of cases though, a device that helps you breath while you sleep is the best choice. For those that suffer from severe cased of sleep apnea, minor surgery could be advisable as this condition can become deadly if not dealt with.

Sleep apnea affect children as well as adults. Some young children have apnea and you can notice if your child has it if they suffer from sweating, waking up repeatedly, snoring, or breathing only through the mouth. Any of these signs can be a clue that your child has a form of sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea may not be that serious but in severe cases, it can cause death. That is why it is smart to see a doctor if you suspect something is not right with your sleep. It can be especially hard to diagnose in young children as they can suffer from a large array of problems and pinpointing it to sleep apnea can be tough.

Some people have sleep apnea and dont even know it. Since it is a disorder that happens only while you sleep, many people dont know they have it and just think they have trouble sleeping. Other side effects from sleep apnea are high blood pressure, heart problems, and depression.

Obviously this is a sleeping disorder that can be a serious one. Anyone that feels that their sleep is not right should get themselves checked by a doctor who will be better able to diagnose the problem. As sleep is such an important part of our health, you should make every effort to make sure you have the best chance of a good nights sleep every night.

There are more ways than one to know how to kill louse pests. Most parents however really want to know how to kill louse problems for good. How do you make sure that lice never come back?

Kill the Lice

Most parents immediately think of exterminating all head lice when they are asked if they know how to kill louse problems. This is a logical first step but you may have to evaluate the different methods used as a solution to how to kill louse pests. There are many ways.

The first typical choice is to pick a chemical based product used for lice control. There are many different products though and not all of them can give the desired results. Make sure that you are comfortable with the idea of putting chemicals on your child’s head and that your child is not so sensitive as to react negatively to a chemical treatment. The fact though is that even very good chemical solutions to how to kill louse pests cannot always get rid of lice 100% of the time.

You can also opt for natural home made remedies. Vinegar, mayonnaise and olive oil have all been used in the past as lice killers. The disadvantage to natural remedies is the apparent lack of standardized measurements and modes of application. You may have to do some trial and error to arrive at an effective mix.

Manual killing of head lice is still practiced by some today. Some people still think that crushing lice in between the nails is the only sure way of killing the pests. You would of course have to put a lot of energy, patience and stamina for this kind of activity.

Eliminate the Nits

Kill the lice as well as the nits. Nits can stick stubbornly on the hair shaft near the scalp, refuse to die and hatch when they are ready. This means that you may have a new batch of nymphs on your hands. The most basic way to kill nits is to manually pick them with your fingers. Others suggest though that a little olive oil and a good nit comb may provide a lot of help. You could also always shave off your child’s hair as a shortcut solution to how to kill louse pests.

Tidy Up

To survive, lice feed on human blood. However, they can live for a day or two away from their human host. This means that even after a successful hair treatment, some live lice may still be crawling around the living room or your child’s bed. These lice could either find their way back to your child’s hair or invade another family member’s hair. You may have to vacuum some areas, dry clean some stuff and wash and dry your child’s sheets and clothes.

Check Repeatedly

Your home may be lice-free but your child can still get another batch of lice from a seat mate or group mate. Always set a regular schedule to manually go through your child’s hair. Be especially observant and mindful of your child’s hair if he has just come from camp or a sports activity.

Understanding the difference and understanding the different types of ADD symptoms can help ensure that you or your child gets the right treatment.

by Anne Durrell

Understanding the difference and understanding the different types of ADD symptoms can help ensure that you or your child gets the right treatment.

Different Warning Signs

Here are the three different categories for ADHD Symptoms:

* Lack of concentration

* Hyperactivity

* Impulsivity

On the other hand, ADD only causes the distraction symptoms.

Handling a patient for ADHD when they have ADD and is overmedication could lead to further troubles. In most cases, the stories about Ritalin and other ADHD therapy medications that make a kid to be zombie-like are perhaps connected directly to medicating kids with only ADD with the incorrect medication or incorrect doses, assuming that the kids have ADHD.

Inattention Symptoms

With ADD the only kind of symptoms that will be showed are distraction symptoms, and these are include:

* Cannot concentrate to details

* Offhand mistakes

* Easily sidetracked

* Cannot pay attention

* Trouble following directions

* Cannot finish the tasks

* Can’t put anything in order

* Forgetful

Analyzing ADD can help a child get a grasp on stuffs as well as begin to be able to concentrate. A childe that is treated for ADD will start to do better in school as well as have better activities overall.

In many situations, parents believe that their child could not be ADD because they can sit for hours doing something they enjoy without being distracted.

In reality, a kid with ADD can focus when they enjoy what they are doing since it does not need them to put energy into paying attention as well as being focused like an activity they dislike to do.

ADD will go downhill as the kid gets older or at least continue to cause troubles with school as well as other activities. By the time, it has progressed into something that is maybe causing all around problems in the child’s life.

It is actually much better to recognized ADD in younger children so that the children can get used to taking medicine as well as learn how to face ADD symptoms.
