Having A Happy Youth By Getting Older

We love to look back to our sweet old memories, free without too much responsibility. The first taste of independence and fun seem to be the greatest things of all in our lives. When we get older, we gradually have more work and responsibilities that make us too busy to enjoy life.

You don’t necessarily remember the hurt and pain being a teenager, how you were once unsure about who you were. The smallest thing will put a frown on your face, be it an acne, or a friend of the opposite sex. There was so much stress trying to get accepted by peers at school. Now if I may, let me take you down the lane to re-explore how unworthy those times were.

1) Spots. It has for sure crossed your mind how you would spend your night with a boy or girl you met at a weekend party. What was so disturbing was to wake up the day after and have them look at your face in bright daylight. Oops, the harsh reality says: looks do matter. Pimpled face is definitely not a turn-on, though the boy or girl of your dreams may as well be troubled by the same thing.

2) Growth Spurts. For some, growing means undergoing a painful process, as for others, they would rather have that pain than not grow at all. You were once so envious of people who were so much taller and stronger, but as you aged, you know life is fair. Those girls who had the ‘head start’ in development suffered most from stretch marks later on in their lives.

3) Parents. You swore to be a cool parent when you were younger, or at least appear to be less manipulating and more hip. Now that you are one, or maybe going to become one, you must admit that there are no exceptions. It’s easier said than done.

4) Cars. No surprise that Lamborghini is your dream car, you can go on to dream about that while you drive your shabby Ford. There is a slim chance that girls would look your way. They usually prefer older men with posh vehicles. Now, you can race the bus instead!

5) Sex. Although you really want it and think about it very often, you are not going to have one. In fact, it does not really affect your adulthood.

Instead of reminiscing all the excitement you have had when your hair was still dark, focus on how you are feeling. ‘You are as young as you feel’. All the years that went by only make you a more sophisticated and wise person, so treasure the process of growing old.
