Baby Gender Selection Using The Shettles Method
The late Dr. Landrum Shettles a renowned expert on baby gender prediction methods developed, after years of research, a gender selection method that he felt was “best supported by scientific evidence”.
Dr Shettles wrote a best selling book called How To Choose The Sex Of Your Baby, you’ll find a link at my site. He claimed a 75%-90% success rate using his techniques. There have been a few ebooks authored (also at my site) that claim an even higher success rate of up to 98%. The gender selection methods developed by Dr. Shettles takes advantage of the fact that it’s the man’s sperm that determines the sex of a baby. How do we know this? Because the womans egg always carries only the (xx) chromosome (all girl) while the man’s sperm can carry an (xy) chromosome (results in a girl baby) or the (yy) Chromosome (results in a boy baby. Also the two sperm vary widely in their physical characteristics. The “girl” sperm is larger, stronger, but a slower swimmer. The “boy” sperm is smaller, weaker, but faster to reach the egg (every thing being equal.)
Dr Shettles realized that the timing of conceptual intercourse had a profound effect on the sex of the resulting baby. The depth of penetration during conceptual intercourse also plays a role in the gender of the resulting baby. The mother-to-be will have to learn how to track her day of ovulation as precisely as possible as this too plays a role.
If you want a baby boy you should abstain from sex until just before ovulation (24 hrs) than do the deed as often as you want (more is better) until the second day after ovulation. Using positions that allow for the deepest penetration (doggie style, or missionary, but with the womans legs extended up by her head) are best. The reasoning behind this is the fact that you will be depositing the sperm very close to a fresh waiting egg, allowing the faster boy sperm the opportunity to win the race, giving you that little boy you desire.
If you want a baby girl, you should only allow shallow penetration when having sex to conceive. Abstain from sex for a couple of days before ovulation until a couple of days after. Again, this will ensure the weaker boy sperm cannot survive the time and distance needed to successfully fertilize the egg, resulting in the girl baby you desire.
Dr Shettles determined that vaginal acidity also plays a role in which sperm succeeds in fertilizing the egg. He found that a lower ph (higher acidity) favored the girl sperm and a higher ph (lower acidity) favored the survival of the boy sperm.
